Why OnlineClipboard
A free online clipboard for text, images, and files
OnlineClipboard is a simple clipboard tool: paste or upload something, get a short code, and retrieve it on any device — no sign-up required.
Copy paste, without the friction
Most people still copy paste between devices the hard way — emailing themselves a note or texting a link to their own phone. OnlineClipboard replaces that with a proper online text share or online file share: paste your text once, get a code, and pull it up anywhere.
Built for file transfer too
It's not just a text tool. Use it as an online file transfer service for images and documents — upload a file, send the code, and the other person can retrieve it instantly. A quick way to send files online without setting up shared folders or cloud accounts.
No account, ever
There's no login, no app install, and nothing to configure. Open the site, send your content, and go — that's the whole idea behind a "go online clipboard" that stays out of your way.
Fast on both ends
Codes are generated instantly and retrieval is just as quick, so sharing feels close to real-time — paste on one device, open on another, and the content is already there.
FAQ
Common questions
What is the Online Clipboard used for?
It's used to move text, images, or files between your own devices, or to share them with someone else. Paste or upload your content, get a short code, and anyone with that code can retrieve it — no account, no app, no formatting to fight with.
How long do you keep my text?
Shared content isn't kept forever — codes and their content expire automatically after a set period and aren't stored indefinitely on our servers.
When exactly does my content expire?
By default, files and text are permanently and automatically deleted from our servers 10 minutes after the code is generated. We keep no backups, no logs, and no copies of expired content.
Is it safe to store passwords here?
We'd recommend against it. OnlineClipboard is built for quick, temporary sharing rather than secure secrets storage, so avoid pasting passwords, API keys, or other sensitive credentials here — use a dedicated password manager for those instead.
What file types can I share?
You can share common file types including images (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP) and everyday documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT, and similar).
Is there a desktop app I need to install?
No install needed. OnlineClipboard runs entirely in your browser, so it works the same on Windows, Mac, Linux, or mobile without downloading anything.
Can I share files without creating an account?
Yes. There's no sign-up step anywhere in the flow — upload, get a code, and share it. The person retrieving your file doesn't need an account either.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, uploads are capped at a set size per file to keep the service fast for everyone (images can be upto 10MB and other files upto 25MB). Text pastes have no practical limit for typical use.
How to use online clipboard?
Go to the Send page, paste your text or drag in a file, and you'll get a short code back. Share that code however you like — chat, email, or just say it out loud. On the other end, open the Retrieve page, enter the code, and the content shows up instantly.
